Temple Membership

Our Lady of the Sylvan Wood Temple, while a member Temple of the Correllian Nativist Tradition, enjoys an Open Membership Policy…meaning that our members do not have to join the Tradition to be members of the Temple…all that is required is that you possess an Open Heart and Mind… and follow and sign our Temple Member’s Affirmation and live so as to adhere to the principles of the Wiccan Rede and the Temple Member’s Code of Conduct

See below for the Temple Member's Affirmation and the Temple Member's Code of Conduct...

LOCAL MEMBERSHIP:

For Temple membership purposes -- Local Membership is defined as members who reside within 100 miles (2-3 hour drive time) of New Boston, Texas – this includes all the adjacent areas of Northeastern Texas, Southeastern Oklahoma, Southwestern Arkansas, and Northwestern Louisiana.

DISTANCE MEMBERSHIP:

For Temple membership purposes – Distance Membership is defined as members who reside outside the Local Area – more than 100 miles of New Boston, Texas – so that leaves the pretty much the rest of the world as being open for Distance memberships within the temple.

Temple Member's Affirmation

Temple Member’s Affirmation:

In dedication to the celebration of Life and all its many forms,

I hereby declare my commitment to a way of life that is ethical, benevolent, humanistic, life affirming, ecstatic, and ecologically minded.

I subscribe to the means and methods that are creative, rather than destructive, tolerant rather than authoritarian, gentle rather than violent, inclusive rather that exclusive.

I pledge myself to harmonious awareness with the loving connection of Mother Earth.

As we are each a part of the Infinite Cycle

As we are borne from the Great Spirit

As we fuse together into spiritual beings
That always was and always

will be Nature and no other...

I acknowledge my personal responsibility for myself, my fellow humans and to the whole of Nature; and I recognize this total responsibility, in each of us, as the source of our infinite freedom to become who we are and do what we will.

I dedicate myself to the world around me. For these reasons I recognize Divinity both within and without, and I say to myself and others:

"I will do, as I will, from my own highest good and for the good of all, and in doing so, will always seek to cause harm to none”

It is my wish therefore, to unite with others upon a spiritual path that encompasses both the Heavens and the Earth, and hereby make application to join Our Lady of the Sylvan Wood Temple, in order that we may learn together and teach each other ways to bring about these ends.

I further agree to abide by the Constitution and By-Laws of Our Lady of the Sylvan Wood Temple while I am a member.
